About Donna Oser, CAE
Today’s evolving policy environment, complex workforce, and changing economy present significant challenges for association leaders. With two decades of experience in association leadership and governance, Oser combines business acumen and a strategic mindset to help association leaders build capacity, grow influence, and achieve their objectives.
Prior to taking the helm of MSAE, Oser served as deputy executive director for the Michigan Association of School Boards, CEO of Vital Solutions, assistant director of the Michigan Association of Secondary School Principals, and executive director of Michigan PTA.
Donna earned a master's in leadership and strategy from Michigan State University (go green!) as well as undergraduate degrees in accounting and business administration from Cleary University. Oser earned her credentials in association management from the American Society of Association Executives and received extensive training in public engagement and facilitation from the Institute of Cultural Affairs in Chicago, Illinois.
In her spare time, Donna serves on several nonprofit boards, reads voraciously, and enjoys kayaking, cycling, and vodka (but not necessarily in that order).

Strategic planning is challenging in the most stable of times. Add in a pandemic, as well as social and political upheavals and we are left with a crystal ball that seems to be filled with mud. No matter how much we shake it or leave it to settle, the future doesn’t seem to become any clearer. Businesses and associations across the country are struggling to figure out how best to protect and move their organizations forward. During this session, participants will gain confidence in their ability to map out an impactful plan for their organization and take a fresh approach to the strategic planning process.
As decision makers, we must realize that duct taping current strategies and policies together in order to weather the storm can often do more harm than good to both the business and its employees.
